4th Annual International Symposium on Information Management and Big Data

Track on Machine Learning and Pattern Recognition Applications (MLPRA)Register Now

  Call for Papers

Machine Learning when combined with data analytics can impact the world in a truly meaningful ways. Since it runs on a machine scale and is data driven, it can easily extract valued patterns from disparate data, with way less dependence on human input. Also, unlike the traditional methods, machine learning actually thrives on big datasets, which means the more data is fed into a machine learning system, the more it will learn, and the better results it will deliver.

During the past three years, the Pattern Recognition and Applied Artificial Intelligence Research Group from PUCP (GRPIAA-PUCP) lead the research and difussion of applications in machine learning in Peru developing several research projects and organizing events and conferences. Thus, in 2014 and 2015 were organized the first and second WRPIAA and in 2016 was successfully organized the XXI CIARP. In this year, following this event series, GRPIAA-PUCP is in charge of the Machine Learning Applications Track, into the SIMBig 2017 Conference.

All Machine Learning researchers are kindly encouraged to contribute to the conference through submissions of their research findings. Also, high quality research contributions describing original and unpublished results of conceptual, constructive, empirical, experimental, or theoretical work in all areas of Machine Learning and Pattern Recognition are cordially invited for presentation at the conference.

  Scope and Topics

The conference solicits contributions that address, but not limited, to the following topics:
- Deep Learning
- Intelligent Learning
- Supervised, unsupervised and reinforcement learning
- Support vector machines and kernel methods
- Discovery of Causality
- Data stream analysis
- Text Analysis and Understanding
- Video, Image and Signal Analysis
- Genome data management and mining
- Application in Physics, Biology, Medicine and Finance

  Paper Submission Guidelines

Authors are invited to submit original and unpublished papers of research and applications for this track. Full papers should be between 5 to 10 pages (including references and figures). Papers should be written in English and submissions must be in PDF format following the instructions in Latex templates (ACL templates) available here:
