9th September, Symposium Dinner at Tunupa Restaurant

Symposium participants are invited to join us for an evening of traditional Peruvian food, delightful drinks, great company, camaraderie and a very entertaining program.

The symposium dinner will be hosted at Tunupa restaurant, located at Qosqos Main Square. This restaurant offers an excellent view of Plaza de Armas (Main Square) and other surrounding areas.

The Plaza de Armas was called Huacaypata (or Aucaypata) after its construction during the Inca Empire. The original plaza was twice the current size and was heart of the capital. In 1532 Spanish Conquistador Francisco Pizarro defeated the Inca Empire and took control of Qosqo, renaming the Huacaypata to Plaza de Armas. Since 16th century, colonial arcades surround the Plaza de Armas, and two cathedrals face each other across the square. Currently, recently removed, the center of the square is a nice place to rest on the benches, soak up the gardens and admire the fountain in the heart of the square.

Concerning the dinner, it will take place in a warm and friendly dining room at Tunupa Restaurant. An endless buffet, combining traditional Andean delicacies and International foot, will be propose to the symposium followers. The rest of the evening, the SIMBig2014 attendants are invited to enjoy the traditional music and dance spectacle. Don’t miss it.

Tip: do not hesitate to dance with local dancers…
