We live in an era of data deluge. To deal with this huge quantity of data, we require new technologies and architectures in terms of data acquisition, data integration, data storage, data management and data analysis in order to extract value from it. SIMBig 2016 aims to bring together academia, industry, research scholars, business entrepreneurs, practitioners, managers, and policy makers responsible in information management and analysis of huge quantity of data. This symposium will be held on 1-3 September 2016 in Cusco, Peru as the previous editions.

Our first edition, SIMBig 2014 is already indexed on DBLP. You can find all the contributions at DBLP (SIMBig 2014).

Our second edition, SIMBig 2015 is already indexed on DBLP. You can find all the contributions at DBLP (SIMBig 2015).

SIMBig 2016 third edition will be heightened by welcoming as invited speakers to:

  • PhD. Prof. Maguelonne Teisseire, from Cirad and TETIS Laboratory, France;
  • PhD. Prof. Albert Bifet from Télécom ParisTech, France and the Waikato University, New Zeland;
  • PhD. Prof. Kevin Bretonnel Cohen, from University of Colorado - School of Medicine, U.S.A;
  • PhD. Prof. Fabio Crestani from Faculty of Informatics, University of Lugano, Switzerland;

The scope of SIMBig includes the analysis of methods in order to handle large amount of information using machine learning and data mining techniques.

This scientific event and it's associated workshops, conferences and demonstrations are an opportunity for both graduates and future graduates to extensively discuss their work with researchers from abroad.

This third edition of SIMBig 2016 will be held in Cusco, Peru during four days of conference. The city renowned for its architecture, history and sincere culture, you will undoubtedly appreciate during our scheduled guided tours.
