Special Track

Track on Biomedical Data Science (BIOMEDS)

Call for Papers

The track on Biomedical Data Science (BIOMEDS) is conceived to be a leading forum for discussing academic and industrial approaches to improve healthcare through the leverage of multimodal data sources using data science, machine intelligence and other related techniques.

We encourage researchers working with biomedical images and signals (and its many modalities), genomics, electronic health records and clinical data to submit both theoretical and applied work. The 2nd BIOMEDS gathering will be organized as a track of SIMBig 2021 in Lima, Peru, as an interdisciplinary venue for computer scientists, medical doctors, biologists, bioinformaticians and biomedical engineers.

Young scientists, graduate and advanced undegraduate students are especially encouraged to submit their novel and exciting work.

Scope and Topics

BIOMEDS welcomes all topics related to leveraging data science and machine intelligence for the improvement of health. The topics suitable for BIOMEDS include, but are not limited to:

  • Unimodal and Multimodal Computer-Aided Diagnostic Systems
  • Analysis of Biomedical Images and Signals for Diagnosis, Control and/or Biometry
  • Analysis of Genomic Data for personalized medicine and/or clinical outcome modelling
  • Data-centric approaches to image and signal ensambling and/or restoration
  • Low-cost and/or scalable instrumentation through machine intelligence
  • Machine Intelligence applications to Public Health and Pandemics control with an special focus on COVID-19 actions
